Kenneth Purfey, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Purfey has over 35 years of executive financial experience, primarily with Fortune 500 firms. The bulk of his expertise is in the fields of Corporate Governance, Finance, Accounting Planning, Mergers & Acquisitions, Wall Street Capital Markets and International Corporate Finance. He was CFO and Partner in a consulting firm that performs Sarbanes-Oxley anti-fraud financial reporting and has been the CFO of three hi-tech and IT companies. He has been a key player in the consummation of 72 acquisitions totally over $15b, and has consulted on mergers as large as $7b. He is also a published author on articles on Corporate Governance, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Sarbanes-Oxley, and has been an Expert Witness for the SEC.

Mike Rivett, Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Rivett has over 30 years experience in Marketing, Finance and Operations, primarily in the technology and software industries. He has worked as Director of Finance at BMC Software responsible for financial support for Worldwide Sales, Service and Marketing, including 3 years of financial operations for Europe, Middle East and Africa, and as Senior VP at New Dimension Software and VP of Finance and Administration at Sterling Software.

Dr. Yuri Parisky, Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Parisky is a Diagnostic Radiologist with over 30 years of experience, specializing in cancer imaging. He has served as the Director New Technologies, Breast Imaging Services and Director of Breast Imaging at the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and is currently Director of Medical Imaging at Mammoth Hospital, Mammoth Lakes, California., where he established a Breast Cancer Diagnostic Facility. He was also on staff at the Orange Women’s Center in Orange, California and was Vice President of the National Consortium of Breast Centers.

Dr. Holley Zirak, Project Manager and Principle Investigator
Dr. Zirak is a Certified Breast Examiner with an extensive background, previously being employed as a Biomedical Scientist at NASA Ames Research Center, with Postdoctoral Fellowship work in Biosensors and Astrobiology. She has also worked as a Mechanical Engineer with Novellus Systems and an Engineering Technician with Intel Corporation.

Kathleen Bystrom, VP Marketing
Ms. Bystrom was a Group Program Manager at Microsoft in the E-Commerce Business Solutions Group and was Director, Client Services for the retail and on-line business portals vertical for NM Insight (a partnership between The Nielsen Company and McKinsey & Company). She also led social media solution business development and research efforts for both U.S. and global-based studies for the Portals and Retail business vertical

Theo Spangenberg, Director of European Operations
Mr. Spangenberg is a Dutch national with 35 years of medical device marketing experience. Based in Belgium, his primary activity has been to establish European marketing for U.S. medical device companies, including Bentley Laboratories, Stryker, Nellcor, Medtronic, Biomedicus and Medacoustics. He previously sat on the board of two medical device companies.

Engineering/IT Team

Russell Dewey, Director of Product Engineering
Mr. Dewey has a broad and varied career in the Information Technology industry with significant international experience developing and launching cutting-edge hardware products, intelligent software engineered products, business start-ups, and managing large-scale IT operations. He spent 20 years at Stanford Research Institute, including a role as Director of the Intelligent Systems Lab, Consultant, and Department Director, and has 15+ years as President and CEO of his own high-technology consulting company, specializing in web database and mobile applications, algorithm development, and in designing and building intelligent hardware and software systems.

Christine Fawcett, Software Engineer
Christine has over 15-years experience as a Software Engineer in the field of Electronic Design Automation, primarily developing routing algorithms software for numerous companies such as Magma Design Automation and Mentor Graphics. Recently she was the Android application developer for Crystal Springs Software, and worked on a major bio-science project application. She has a Ph. D in Theoretical Physics from Imperial College, London, and a B.Sc in Physics from the University of Southampton, UK.

Bruce Brown, Chief Information Officer
Mr. Brown is known as a creative, innovative IT management professional successful in transforming businesses through the use of well-conceived, appropriate, and cost-effective systems. With over 30 years experience, he is a hands-on leader and problem solver with experience ranging from strategic planning to tactical implementation, programmer to CIO, project leader to inventor. He has served as CIO for two multinational, billion-dollar companies.

Dr. Shashi Sathyanarayana, Consulting Expert, Mathematician, and Founder of Numeric Insight Inc.
Dr. Sathyanarayana has over 30 years experience in ultrasound imaging tools, smart systems to automatically analyze sensor data to detect unusual patterns of activity, tools to analyze pathology images, statistical analysis, and advanced algorithm development. He comes from Boston Scientific Inc. and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and holds a Ph.D. in Acoustical Electrical Engineering, a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Biological Imaging, a Master of Electronic Technology, and a BS in Electronic Engineering.

Veijo Suorsa, Ph.D., Vice President Engineering
Dr. Suorsa is seasoned ultrasound engineering expert with over 20 years of experience in the field. He has worked with Atrionix, Inc., Boston Scientific Corporation, Cardiovascular Imaging Systems, and Hollming Ltd. Electronics. Dr. Suorsa has authored or co-authored over 25 patents with more in process.

Susan Brady, Website Development and Management
Mrs. Brady is a highly experienced publishing and website executive with over 20 years experience. Her expertise includes website and content development, publishing production and management, video development and production, as well as producing marketing collateral and setting editorial standards and guidelines. She was previously editor-in-chief of an online health news service.

Compliance/FDA Team

Craig Coombs, FDA/CE Mark Regulatory Consultant
Mr. Coombs has been the President of Coombs Medical Device Consulting (CMDC) since 2000, specializing in hands-on, innovative U.S., European, and Asian regulatory strategies for start-ups and companies that need to improve or enhance their strategies. CMDC skills include cost-effective First-In-Human or VC milestone clinical trial design, management, and analysis. During his twenty-three years of medical device regulatory work which includes FDA and CE Mark approvals, he has been a Vice President of Medtronic in the areas of Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance and Clinical Studies. Mr. Coombs is also on the Adjunct Faculty for the University of California (Santa Cruz) in Medical Device Submissions.

Dr. Timothy Stein, FDA/CE Mark Regulatory Consultant
For the last 20 years, Dr. Stein has been the owner of Business Performance Associates Inc., a firm located in Cupertino, CA and has guided over 110 clients through the CE Mark/FDA processes. His firm will help provide IDS with software design development processes that are compliant with IEC 62304:2006, design control requirements (QSRs and ISO 13485); FDA guidance documents for submission, preparation of documentation for 510(k) submission for products that include software, and testing of medical device software.  His goal is to help IDS achieve software regulatory compliance.

Legal Team

David Rees, Acting General Counsel
For over eighteen years, Mr. David Rees has worked with small, medium and large companies in various capacities’ as legal counsel, senior executive, and strategic external advisor.  He has handled numerous deals related to growth-oriented projects, including arranging and structuring financing transactions, operational initiatives and implementations, sales and marketing efforts, cross-border investment and acquisition transactions, and general legal advisory services. Mr. Rees has assisted many companies in going public, raising capital, and growing sales opportunities within the United States, Canada, Asia, India and Europe. Among other positions, David has served as CEO of a publicly traded educational software company based in Utah; as Vice President of Strategic Planning for a publicly traded Internet company headquartered in Los Angeles, California; as Vice President of Investment Banking for Catalyst Financial in Connecticut; and as general counsel to numerous public and private companies. Mr. Rees was also an attorney in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Finance departments at the premier international law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in New York City.
